With no real medically proven cause of the condition, we know that rosacea tends to be aggravated by spicy food, coffee or alcohol and in addition, warm weather, physical exertion or sun exposure (which would normally cause anyone to be a little pinker) can make the flushing more severe for sufferers. We know that some of those triggers can’t be avoided and in fact sometimes cause a cycle of the condition. Being acutely aware that you have rosacea may cause stress and low mood, which then triggers rosacea for even longer!
Here at Figura, we have a treatment available using the safe and effective, Lumenis, gold standard, medical-grade Stellar M22 multi-platform system, which is trusted and used by physicians all over the world. Our advanced treatment works with the IPL over a number of sessions, to minimise the appearance of rosacea redness by targeting wavelengths towards the affected areas of the skin to reduce expanded veins and capillaries, promote healing of the skin and inflammation and stimulate cell renewal with dramatically clearer skin as a result.

How does Rosacea treatment work?
Treatment varies for each rosacea type. Intense Pulse Light (IPL) and / or laser treatments have been clinically proven to successfully reduce facial redness, flushing and broken veins.
It works by using light energy to target the problem capillaries in your skin. The heat generated destroys your problem blood vessels, which your body then reabsorbs. The majority of patients can be successfully treated and also find that the treatment contributes to an improved skin appearance.
People with Papulo Pustula Rosacea (PPR) respond better to a combination of IPL / Laser and oral or topical antibiotics. Ocular types need the expertise of an Ophthalmologist and Rhinophyma types needs the expertise of a plastic surgeon.
When will I see Rosacea results and how many treatments will I need?
Depending on the severity of your rosacea, you could notice an improvement a few days after your initial treatment and the majority of the patients will respond well.
However, every client is individual and the recommended number of treatments may vary. The veins causing your rosacea will be of different sizes and at different depths – our treatment targets the veins in layers and will remove different ones each treatment. It is our experience that sufferers of mild to moderate rosacea, on average, see a marked improvement in their symptoms after 4 treatments, but depending on the severity it can of course take more – this will be discussed with you during the initial consultation. The IPL and laser equipment used at Figura is of a very high, medical grade specification and you can be assured the number of sessions required to treat you is minimalised, saving you inconvenience and unnecessary expenditure.
We are all individuals and as such, the number of treatments and the results from treatments will vary from person to person. Similarly, due to the varying response of the individual, the down-time, recovery and the longer term results achieved following the treatment will differ from person to person. The information we provide you with is based on the extensive experience we have gained from treating a wide range of clients of differing age and gender.
